Ari comes to the Y with more than 10 years of experience in education, working with individuals of all ages and abilities, and a master’s degree in special education from Hunter College. He has worked as a public school teacher, preschool supervisor, camp counselor, youth coach, tutor for students with learning disabilities, and special education learning specialist.
As an educator, Ari is committed to ensuring that students with learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and other health impairments are provided with all of the accommodations they need.
Ari is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the Y’s inclusion of youth with disabilities in the Be Me After-School Program, Camp Twelve Trails, and Sunday Funday.
In addition to serving as Sunday Funday director and inclusion coordinator, Ari is also a Y parent — his daughter is enrolled in the Y Nursery School. Born and raised in Washington Heights, Ari continues to live in the neighborhood with his family.
