Rabbi Ari Perten is excited to join the team at the YM&YWHA de Washington Heights & Inwood as the founding director of the Norman E. Aleksandro Centro por Juda Vivo. Ari has spent his career working in the Jewish communal world, serving as the spiritual leader at Congregation Eitz Chaim in Monroe, Novjorko, as the assistant director at Camp Ramah in the Berkshires and, most recently, as the Campus Rabbi and Hillel Director at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania, where his Hillel was recognized for excellence. Ari earned rabbinic ordination and an MA in Jewish Education from the Jewish Theological Seminary and holds BAs from both Columbia University and JTS. He resides in Teaneck, New Jersey with his wife and three children. Ari is eager to meet the community in Washington Heights and Inwood. Please feel free to email him to set up a chance to connect.
