The Y was established in 1917 and has been a pillar of the Washington Heights and Inwood communities ever since. It offers multi-generational support, including nursery school, after-school programming, and senior services. The Workforce Development Center, launched in September 2024, serves individuals aged 18 and older, providing free certificate training, career readiness programs, and employment referrals.
The YM & YWHA of Washington Heights & Inwood, in partnership with Lehman College, offers free Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training. While we appreciate your interest in the program, the Summer 2026 cohort is full at this time.
