Kierstin is the Y’s Managing Director of Youth and Recreation, responsible for oversight and leadership of internal programs including Be Me, inclusion, enrichment, literacy, and sports. She has her B.A. from Hampshire College where she studied Early Childhood Education and Theater for Young Audiences, and her M.A. in Youth Development from Michigan State University.
Throughout her career, Kierstin has worked with a variety of youth-focused organizations such as schools, districts, afterschool programs, and capacity-building organizations, always with a focus on providing the highest quality programs while developing the skills of young people. She brings to the Y a rich background in education, positive youth development, program implementation and assessment, and professional training and coaching.
Kierstin is a resident of Washington Heights, where she lives with her husband and daughter. On weekends, you’ll likely find her at a local playground or coffeeshop. She loves to bake and read in her spare time, and has recently taken up pottery making.
