Have you been wondering how to talk and learn about racial justice? Has your child ever asked a question about race that you weren't sure how to answer? Do you want to help our community be a force for good in our broader community?

The Y's Norman E. Alexander Center for Jewish Life and Fort Tryon Jewish Center are hosting this series of workshops on Zoom to address racial justice.

Participants are encouraged to attend all of the sessions listed below. Please note that in order to attend the 4th part you must attend parts 1, 2, og 3.

1) Psychological Safety & a Framework - Thu, Oct 21, 7:30-9:30pm Somatic and neurological impact of discussion on race & racism A framework for accountability in doing racial equity work An introduction to terms

2) DEI, Racial Justice & Belonging - Tues, Nov 2, 8-9:30pm Understanding how and why racial categories were constructed Becoming familiar with the pan-ethnic Jewish Community Locating the points of tension between the dual system

3) Racial Construct in the US & Where Jews Fit In - Tues, Nov 16, 8-9:30kl

4) Antiracist Jewish Parenting - Sun, Dec 12, 7:30-9:30 Forsætisráðherra (prerequisite: attending all or most of parts 1-3)
