Fakalakalaka ʻo e Ngāueʻangá

For nearly 50 ngaahi taʻu, the Y has been a source of hope and inspiration for local youth through our workforce development programs. We often are a starting point of employment and vocational exploration for thousands of youth residing in and around the Northern Manhattan area. The Y’s Workforce Development team is committed to providing year-round opportunities for youth to explore their vocational interests, join in select internships, and benefit from individualized support as they build their career paths.

We are committed to helping youth achieve the goals of financial self-sufficiency and a high level of self-esteem. Our goals are:

  • To encourage and train youth to become financially self-sustaining.
  • To support our youth as they explore what they are passionate about and guide them as they transform their vocations into a career path.
  • To provide youth with the skills to become more marketable and better prepared for success once they join the workforce.
