You know the Y – we are northern Manhattan’s premier community center where:
- your children make their first friend at our Nursery School
- your children learn to swim at our day camp in Rockland County

The Y is also the place that makes a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable in our community – we extend a helping hand to people of all ages with free programs and caring services:
- Teaching children how to read in our Family Literacy Program
- Supporting parents of children with special needs
- Guiding teens to academic and career success

- Placing more than300 New York City youth in meaningful summer jobs
- Serving4,000 monthly hot nutritious meals to seniors six days per week
- Buying clothing and bedding for an orphan child with special needs to attend an overnight summer camp, part of$10,000 distributed in conjunction with “The New York Times Neediest Cases& rdquo;
- Providing$100,000 in scholarships to families with financial constraints
